Short history of smartphones

Labels: history

The first smartphone was developed by IBM as a concept product in 1992. It was called Simon and was placed on the market in 1993. By today's standards, it would be considered a low end product, but it was quite advanced at the time. In addition to use as a mobile phone, Simon was equipped with a calendar, calculator, world clock, note pad; the ability to send and receive faxes, and of course games.
